TRUDEL, Norman A

Norman A. Trudel, age 77, husband of Jeanne (Soyak) Trudel, of Schuylkill Township , PA died Wednesday afternoon, November 11, 2009 in his home. Born in Norwalk , CT , he was the son of the late Amede and Eva (Aubin) Trudel. Mr. Trudel was a graduate of the Assumption Preparatory School , Worcester , MA and the University of Connecticut . He was president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. A veteran, Mr. Trudel served as a 2nd lieutenant during the Korean War. Mr. Trudel has over 50 years experience in the insurance industry. He was the founder and former CEO of the GMI insurance company in Phoenixville, which originated in 1980.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Mr. Trudel is survived by a daughter; Karen J., wife of Thomas A. Martellucci, of Malvern, PA, Three Sons; Mark N., husband of Lisa A. (Root) Trudel, of Downingtown, PA, Michael A., husband of Caren D. (Johnstone) Trudel, of Schuylkill Township, Carter J., husband of Victoria A. (Baker) Trudel, of Wayne, PA, One Sister; Aline, wife of Kusti Murd, of Brooklyn, CT, Ten Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 148 Church Street , Phoenixville , PA 19460 on Friday afternoon, November 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael W. Rzonca. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to Melanoma Research Foundation 170 Township Line Road, Bldg B, Hillsborough , NJ 08844 . The Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue , Phoenixville , PA is in charge of the arrangements.
